Celebrating International Women’s Day
With individuals, businesses and organisations coming together to celebrate International Women’s Day, the worldwide event is shining a light on women's equality, increasing much-needed visibility and recognising women's achievements.
The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is 'break the bias’, promoting a gender-equal world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination, collectively forging women's equality.
At Right at Home, providers of in-home care assistance for seniors and adults with disabilities, International Women’s Day is an important celebration for their team of Home Care Assistants who came together to mark the occasion, recognising both their own achievements and the achievements of their colleagues, especially throughout the past two years.
Speaking on International Women’s Day, David McKone, Managing Director, Right at Home, said, “We are delighted to celebrate International Women’s Day, recognising the outstanding contribution of our Carers in the local communities that they serve. The sheer determination, grit and passion they have shown throughout the past two years of the pandemic has been phenomenal, and we firmly believe in recognising the accomplishments of our female staff. The work they do has such a positive impact on their clients, giving them the support they need to live an independent life from the comfort of their own homes. We are lucky to have a fantastic team of female staff across both our Care and Management teams who are forging the way for future generations.”
Denise Griffin, A Health Care Assistant with Right at Home said, “Celebrating International Women’s Day together this year has been very special, giving us the opportunity to connect and raise awareness for gender equality. We are building a world for future generations whereby hopefully, females won’t be restricted by the confines of gender bias. Through our work as Home Care Assistants, we are lucky to meet some amazing women who share their stories with us, which we celebrate on International Women’s Day.”
Located in Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare, Galway, Mayo, Roscommon and Cork, Right at Home provides quality home care and support for seniors and adults with disabilities.
