In its thirteenth year, Positive Ageing Week 2015 will continue to bring communities together to celebrate ageing and make Ireland the best place to grow old. Organised by Age Action Ireland, Positive Ageing Week marks the UN International Day of Older Persons on October 1^st and highlights the positive aspects of ageing, while celebrating the contribution older people have made and continue to make to their communities.

Almost 2,500 complaints of elder abuse were made to the health services last year, up 7% since 2011, according to the Health Service Executive.

The team at Right at Home exhibited at the Intreo Jobs fair held in Dublin Castle on the 29 September 2015. It was a very well organised event with many different organisations and job support agencies in attendance.

This day is observed annually worldwide to create awareness and understanding of the issue of elder abuse in our society.

The 9th National Carers week, which commenced on 9 June and runs until 14 June, celebrates and recognises the contribution of Ireland’s family carers with events throughout Ireland.

According to the National Association for Home Care, there are more than 7 million individuals in the United States in need of home health care nurse services because of acute illness, long term health problems, permanent disability or terminal illness.

The first-ever all island Palliative Care Week takes place from October 6-11.
